27 June

Marks for the Intermediate certificate exam will be announced

I will be at the school 27 and 28 June from 5 to 8 p.m. for any enquiries

Note:
Please notice that for the official examinations there is no such thing as "exam revision" or "I'd like to comment my exam with the teacher."
However, if you are surprised by your marks because you think they are not fair or if you can't figure out what went wrong and you would rather talk to your teacher we will be happy to give you the necessary information or explanation.

Thursday 17 May

  • Student's book, page 143, exercise 7B
Notes:
  • I've collected all the exercises Use of Language we've done during the course in one single document with the answers at the end. Although you've already done these texts it might be a good idea to do them again, especially for people who got a low mark in the use of language part of the mock exam. Students who are interested in having this document should ask for it via email and I'll send it to your email address.
  • Try not to miss the last four classes because we are going to do mainly exam practice for the real test (reading, video, use of language and speaking).

Thursday 3 May

MOCK EXAM: WRITING (1 hour) - SPEAKING (1 hour)
Note: because normal classes do not resume until May 10 some classwork and homework will be done online
  • Read the texts on page 93 and 94-95 (only class 3F)
  • Revision unit 6: pages 98-99 (see answers at the bottom)
  • Read this article about Pep Guardiola quits Barça.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_iEg9GINmnnV3RMRDFEQ0JrWkU/edit
Note: the article is authentic from CNN but it has been slightly adapted. Try to understand the whole article but focus on the words in yellow and the expressions in blue (I will give you the answers shortly). Also notice some words in grey which have been explained with an easier synonym. In addition, you may want to watch this video aired just before Guardiola announced in a press conference he was standing down at the end of the season. The video features an interview with a Spanish football journalist and with CNN correspondent in Madrid.
